As the title suggests, these Baxter Boots are the best shoes I've ever had. I say "shoes" because I already have a pair of favorite "boots", which are the Freeman Boot, another pair from Rancourt.
The Baxter Boot is a bit more understated than the Harrison Boot, which I prefer. Since they are unlined they conform to your foot shape in just days. I think the sole may be thinner than the Harrison, it feels like a combination of those barefoot shoes and a sturdy boot sole, meaning it gives you high conformability and tactile feedback while still feeling solid and puncture resistant. I haven't tried the Harrison, but I would wager that those feel more like a traditional thicker boot with rigidity and substance, while the Baxter is more like a thin leather glove with high mobility and sensory input.
You could wear these in casual settings inside as well as most outside circumstances, all the way from Fall to Spring.
I used to wear a pair of Redwings thinking that they were good shoes, but anything from Rancourt is a completely different experience and I never knew leather shoes could be so comfortable. I can't wait until the weather gets warmer so I can try out Rancourt's sneakers. Thanks!
