Description
The Beefroll Penny Loafer is our most iconic style. Cut from unlined Horween Chromexcel it doesn't get any more uniquely American than this. Chromexcel is the flagship leather from the iconic Horween Tannery in Chicago, IL. Chromexcel is impregnated with a proprietary blend of natural oils and waxes, this special tannage gives the leather a number of distinctive properties. It has a beautiful bright finish, unique "pull-up" character, soft and flexible structure, and a "self polishing" property. Over time the leather will "bloom", which means the oils and waxes make their way to the surface, leaving a light white film on the leather. It's as simple as buffing with a horsehair brush or soft cloth and you'll restore the beautiful finish of the leather. Learn more about Horween's Chromexcel leather here. In addition to the unrivaled quality of Chromexcel, we've crafted these shoes without a leather lining and using our genuine handsewn moccasin construction. As you wear them your feet will warm up the leather and they will literally mold to your feet. We are absolutely confident that these will become your favorite pair of shoes. The Beefroll is rounded out with a natural leather midsole and our Watertight oiled leather outsole for a modern yet sophisticated dress-casual look. Genuine handsewn Moccasin construction. Made in Maine, USA. Sizing: The Beefroll Penny Loafer in unlined Chromexcel tends to run larger than our other shoes. It's best that these fit snug at first as they will stretch and conform to your feet. We recommend ordering a half size down from your normal size. eg. If you normally wear 10D, order 9.5D.

Excellent shoes

These shoes fit well with dress socks and are comfortably snug with heavier ones. They provide excellent support, thus are really comfortable to walk in. The LH sole is heavier than leather, but they keep the wet out!

Since I started wearing Rancourt shoes several years ago, I have not been troubled by plantar fasciitis. This alone makes the price a bargain!

Are these shoes re-soleable?

Rancourt & Co.

Yes, they are. Most of our shoes can be resoled. The exception is any shoe with a "cup sole" cannot be resoled.

Natural Beefroll Penny Loafers

The extra wide loafers fits. I've been walking around the house and backyard to break-in the leather. Seller was quick to deliver to Canada. Wonderful overall experience. I didn't realize you made loafers for Sperry. Deer skin lining on the Sperry loafer was something, I didn't forget. The problem was the leather in the upper for the Sperry tore around the big toe area after one half-sole job from my local cobbler.

Sizing?

I wear a size 8 normally speaking and I ordered a 1/2 size down based upon the instructions. When I received the 7.5D size, as ordered, they were just way to big. I returned them for a 7D and they are still somewhat loose. The shoes look great, however, I'm somewhat perplexed on the sizing.

Perhaps I can insert orthotics and they will work. Shoes general stretch.....not get tighter.
