I ordered my first pair of Rancourt Shell Caramel Cordovan shoes. I own several pairs of Shell Cordovan from other manufacturers--A and C&J. It is difficult to find natural or light-colored Shell Cordovan because the imperfections in the leather are obvious. The Shell Cordovan on these shoes is of flawless quality. The shoes are very comfortable and much easier to break-in, probably due to the Blake stitch vs. Goodyear welt.
These are excellent shoes, as are all Rancourt shoes I've purchased. Cordovan leather is stiffer than Chromexcel so they take a little more breaking in, but that's to be expected. hey took a long time to arrive but the wait was well worth it.

I found Rancourt at some point within the past few years, and took awhile to order as I didn’t really have an imminent need for more shoes- they got me with a pre-order loafer, and it wasn’t more that a few weeks before I decided I had to upgrade to the Shell Cordovan… these are some spiffy joints, gorgeous materials and impeccably built!
I’m having trouble understanding the other negative reviews. These are an awesome pair of shoes. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch. Of course the Horween shell cordovan is incredible. The style is super versatile and can be paired with shorts and a polo up to a blazer and tie. Pictured next to my trusty ranger mocs.
