$288.00
Description
This is the epitome of classic Maine style. The Read boat shoe is the perfect summer shoe. Not only do they look great with a pair of chinos or shorts, but they perform just as a boat shoe should. The Heritage Brown Leather is highly water resistant and incredibly durable, and we've kept it unlined so you can wear them without socks. The non-marking rubber boat soles have siping which makes them stick like glue to slippery surfaces. A pair of chestnut leather laces wraps around the heel to provide an extra snug fit. Each pair is handcrafted in Lewiston, Maine USA using our Genuine Handsewn Moccasin construction.

Great last for casual handsewn shoes like boat shoes and ranger-mocs. Classic round toe like the 114 but slightly longer with a broader and taller toe box for a roomier fit. Order your normal Rancourt size. Sizing Guide
First Time Customer of Rancourt & Company - Read Boat Shoes
I heard of Rancourt & Co.products and checked out reviews on the website - almost all were very positive from satisfied customer. I drove from Windham to Lewiston to check them out. It was a fortunate coincidence that when I arrived Doug (director of retail sales I think) answered the bell and showed me around. I was very impressed by the work flow and craftsmanship with which the workers made the shoes.
I've had the shoes for 3+ weeks and love them. They are extremely well made and took about 2 weeks to "break-in" and conform fully to my feet. While these shoes are a standard size and width - off the shelf, they feel like custom made shoes.
When I need shoes again, I will first look on the website for your products to see if I Rancourt & Co. offers it.
I have wide feet and finding good shoes is always tricky. After trying a standard size that didn't work, I returned and put in an order for a EE in my typical size. It took some time to get them but they are perfect.
These are fine shoes, made with Rancourt’s customary attention to detail. The leather is soft but rugged and water-resistant. The white soles, with wavy siping, grip any surface. My only complaint is a fitting issue with the left shoe, which slips in the heel when I walk. I put a small pad under the tongue to push my heel deeper, and I have tried to pull the laces tighter, which improves the fit somewhat. (It’s possible I should have ordered a C width instead of D.)
I've only owned Sperry boat shoes, and these in comparison are far better built with far better materials than made than Sperry's (even their Gold Cup models which I also own). that said, there's not much cushioning under my foot compared to Sperry's so walking around in them all day while the thick leather breaks in will take some getting used to, which I don't mind. So far, I like them!
