Great last for casual handsewn shoes like boat shoes and ranger-mocs. Classic round toe like the 114 but slightly longer with a broader and taller toe box for a roomier fit. Order your normal Rancourt size. Sizing Guide
Can't say enough good things about these mocs. The craftsmanship, materials and design are top notch. I feel certain these will last for years to come (maybe outlast me). They are slightly heavy in a good way and feel very solid. As other reviews have said - the Lactae soles are fantastic. Great tread surface, grippy and very comfortable. The model of shoe is a great all around alternative to a boat shoe. I have a pair of Rancourt loafers that I also love. Thinner soles but I find myself putting them on more than my other shoes (prior to my rangers) because they have molded to my foot so well. Also light, very comfortable and easy to get on and off. I generally have issues with fit due to the configuration of my feet. I had them measured at one of the fancy boot places and found that literally every aspect of my fit is not standard. Wide (EEE), high arch, high instep, etc.... Both of my pairs of Rancourts were tight when I first started wearing, but, due to the quality of the leather have broken in nicely (stretched) and only getting better with time. Prior to the Rangers, I had originally ordered a pair of Harrison boots. These were also beutifully crafted and very pleasing to look at. However, I was concerned that due to added thickness of the lining, I might not be able to break them in. I have worn these shoes many miles at a time. Took them to Barcelona, Spain. Great looking. Matched casual and more dress up attire. Rained 5 out of 7 days. Not an issue. Customer support is excellent. I live about 3 hours from the factory and their show room. Worth the trip to try on a pair before purchasing. I now own 4 pairs of Rancourt shoes, and my wife has 3. At some point, I might be overdoing it!
These are well-made shoes with excellent leather. Uppers and laces. The shoes do not squeak when I am walking, and the soft, lug-tread soles are silent. My only complaint is that, despite my adding a tongue pad, the left shoe slips slightly on the heel. It’s not enough to cause blisters, but I notice it with every step.
