Amazing boots!
Amazing boots! Super warm, good style, really good make. 1000% worth the price. Got them just in time for winter and they've been a terrific purchase.

Nice boot, warm, decent sole in slick conditions. But, sole came unstuck. Sent an e-mail to customer service, never received a reply. Took them to Franks Boots here in Spokane and their cobbler service reglued the sole, with the warning that the second time is not guaranteed.
Hello Steve,
Thank you for the review! This can happen sometimes when the bonding process fails. We're sorry we missed your email. If you happen to have any further issues please do not hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to help.

Love the boots but for the price the sole came not completely glued together. Pretty disappointing for a high quality handmade boot. You would think there would be some quality control, but seemingly they just throw the boots in a box and ship them. Itās going to be hard for me to trust them with another pair. I told them about this they want me to send them back. After I waited two and a half months to receive them.
Hello Spencer,
Thank you for the review! Our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. Unfortunately, there is a particular bonding process that we use to glue the soles to the uppers. In some cases, the bonding process can fail. We look forward to repairing them for you.
Your support and feedback are greatly appreciated.

I'm a 12.75 heel to toe, B/C heel, nearly D toes, and a 14.5 heel to ball, but still have long toes. I have franken feet, and at some point I should probably have lasts made for me. For now, I do best with mocs made of a stretchy leather.
But I moved north, and my Iron Rangers and Merchants just aren't comfortable enough for how often I wear boots. I have a lot of trouble with boots, my feet are weird. And I needed something warmer as well, if I want to spend time outside year round. This fits the bill for the latter need.
I normally buy 13B rangers and pennies, so my heel fits, and the leather stretches in the toe box to fit my normal width toes. This helps my foot stay in place, and also molds to my forward instep that is so problematic in sturdier boots. Because of the shearling, that doesn't really matter, and these are going to be more sneaker like. The 13 is a bit too wide, and a bit too long, but the 12 won't solve width because it's going to be more uneven in length vs width. Right now I'm going to have to wear this with heavy full cushion socks, or medium full cushion with liners at a minimum. I don't foresee that being a problem, it's going to be cold, and I don't have great circulation
It's a nice high boot, giving you extra ankle support should you slip. The downside is, out of the box they're a bit awkward to sit in. A bar stool is fine, and they'll probably break-in in this regard with time. Hopefully not too much, or you'll lose some of thatā¦
I love the Freeman boots, they're comfortable, stylish, warm, and have great traction on the snow. One day there was a particularly wet snow and the grip on the boots was so good that snow was collecting on the sole until it got heavy enough it would fall off.
A couple of notes to would be purchasers of the boots. First, I was between a size 11.5-12 based on the official size guy on Rancourts website, after chatting with a customer service rep they suggested I go a half size up, so I elected for a size 12.5. After receiving and wearing the boots for a few days, even with thick socks, I am convinced that I would have been more than fine with a size 12. I was reluctant to send them back as the boots are custom made and I didn't want to wait multiple weeks for a new pair to be made again. In fact I read other reviews before I purchased the boots saying that they didn't think they needed to size up either. Secondly, be prepared for creases in the leather. The upper portion of the boot is pure leather with just the lining inside. There is very little support and thus as you wear the boots the leather begins to wrinkle as you walk. The leather has not cracked, but aesthetically it is something to be aware of.
Overall I am happy with the boots but very much wished I got the half size smaller so that my foot wasn't moving around so much.
