I wear these all the time

I purchased them about 2 years ago and they are almost ready for a new sole. I think they look great scuffed and dirty, or cleaned up. Always comfortable, they are likely my most worn pair of shoes.

This is a good product

First of all: customer service was pretty good, and that is important when ordering online.

The shoes itself are as described, they fit well (it was suggested that the D with would stretch to accommodate my EE/EEE feet, which turned out to be true, I guess that is ordered to the moccasin construction), and the quality ist great. Only critique: The glued in 3/4 insole's edge can be felt very prominently, but hopefully that goes away with more wear.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with these.

Great shoes

FYI, in terms of fit I found these to fit about 1/2 size smaller than Brannock size, I generally wear an 8.5 and got an 8 in these and they broke in perfectly.

Shoes are very well made and comfortable -they also look great!

The return of an old friend

Imagine losing track of an old friend for years and then meeting again. Good friends pick right up where you were and its like you were never apart. The same can be said for these classic ranger mocs. Discovering these guys made this classic and here in the USA was all I needed to bring my old friend home. And, as anticipated it has been like we were never apart. Weekends find us never far apart. And, as we both age, I look forward to one of us being able to be revived and restored to former glory. My guess is the ranger Moc will be with me a long time. But, a pair of the lighter browns would be a great summer friendship to have don’t you think? Buy a pair and discover that old friend. I did and will again.

(+) Soft uppers, Good color, (-) Soles way too slippery, Unusual areas inside uppers cause callouses

Been wearing mocs like these as daily shoes for decades. Pros: The uppers look great, and, for the most part, are much softer than other mocs I’ve owned. Cons: Most serious - the soles are -way- too flat, have very little grip on most surfaces and aren’t soft enough to allow me to grab the ground with my toes to compensate. I’ve worn other mocs on wet slate on a roof, on wet granite on a mountain and on snow and ice, and not had a problem. With these, which I paid a lot more for, I’m having to move very slowly and with shortened steps on a roof, ground, and the first time I hit a decent patch of ice, down I went, injuring my left rotator cuff. Emailed Rancourt to tell them how bad the soles were. They said they were new and something they wanted to keep trying for now, but when it was time to resole them, if they had any of the traditional camp soles in stock, they could give me those instead. That’s probably another 2-3 years away, which is longer than I want to be on these slippery soles, so I keep debating whether I want to give them another $120 for new soles now or just buy replacements from someone else. Haven’t yet decided. If they put regular camp soles on these, would definitely recommend. With these flat ones, absolutely wouldn’t. As I said, I’ve worn bluchers and other mocs for over 30 years, through and on everything, and have never felt as tenuous walking around as I have wearing these.

Rancourt & Co.

Hey Dylan, thanks four your feedback. While the camp-moc soles are fairly "new" in the Rancourt shoemaking timeline we have been using them for quite a few years. We created these soles with a company here in the United States who is well known in the footwear industry for creating high quality and durable outsoles. The previous version of camp-moc soles were made in Brazil. We've made tens of thousands of pairs of shoes with our signature camp-moc soles at this point and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with most customers noting that they were more supportive and comfortable than the previous version. I'm sorry to hear you found the traction to be lacking and we have noted your feedback and will keep it in mind going forward. I do want to mention that our camp-mocs are definitely meant for spring/summer wear and not intended to be worn in icy or snowy conditions. We have alternative outsoles for that. I am sorry if the specific use wasn't clearly communicated before you purchased so we will do a better job at that going forward. Again, thanks for the feedback. Take Care.
