Read Boat Shoe - Natural Chromexcel
Rated 4.9 out of 5
47 ReviewsBased on 47 reviews
$265.00
Description
This is the epitome of classic Maine style. The Read boat shoe is the perfect summer shoe. Not only do they look great with a pair of chinos or shorts, but they perform just as a boat shoe should. The Horween Chromexcel is highly water resistant and incredibly durable, and we've kept it unlined so you can wear them without socks. The non-marking rubber boat soles have siping which makes them stick like glue to slippery surfaces. A pair of chestnut leather laces wraps around the heel to provide an extra snug fit. Each pair is handcrafted in Lewiston, Maine USA using our Genuine Handsewn Moccasin construction.

Great last for casual handsewn shoes like boat shoes and ranger-mocs. Classic round toe like the 114 but slightly longer with a broader and taller toe box for a roomier fit. Order your normal Rancourt size. Sizing Guide
The silhouette of this shoe is perfect—it's a true classic boat shoe. They look great and I get compliments on them nearly every time I wear them. I went to the store to try on shoes and the men working there were friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgable. They told me that the Natural color will get darker with age. I purchased the men's version of this shoe based on fit and availability. I'm normally a women's 10 and I bought a men's 8.5 in a narrow width. They fit my feet very well and don't have heel slip. The break in time was minimal (like four good wears) and they are now my favorite summer shoe. I look forward to wearing these for many years to come.

Hello Brooke,
Thank you for the review! Your support is greatly appreciated.
I ordered a custom pair of this style of shoe a little over a year ago, in an oxblood colored leather. The customer support was easy to work with, very communicative. I’ve worn them fairly heavily over the last year, in wet, dry, and snowy conditions. I think they still look great!!! Will probably order another pair soon.

Hello Dylan,
Thank you for the review! Your support is greatly appreciated.
These boat shoes are works of art and fit first time like I had been wearing them for years. All other boat shoes are weak imitations and my next stop is the Rancourt Venetian Loafers.
