Camden Derby - Carolina Brown Chromexcel

This is a great looking derby. The natural color is casual enough for some jeans and formal enough for office attire. The soles are substantial. These things have the weight of a boot. They definitely require some break-in and patience because of the stiff leather uppers and solid sole. I wear a 10.5 on the ranger mocs and these are a little longer, which concerned me at first, but with the narrow toe box, I am very happy with the sizing. Excellent shoe.

This is a short-term review, but not a short use review. I love these shoes. They are eye-catching, comfortable, and sure to last a long, long time.

I worked with Mr. David Creamer at Rancourt for a few weeks to decide on a shoe and size. This kind of human support and local customer service is as rare and wonderful as Rancourt and their products. Once I decided on the Camden Derby, I placed my order and the waiting began. As waits go, this one was long and trying at times, but oh so worth it.

Out of the box I could feel the quality and see the craftsmanship of these shoes. The are still the 'break-in' period in my estimation, a touch stiffer than you might be used to with other brands, but my no means uncomfortable. In fact, I've worn these every day to my office job, with jeans on the weekend, and walked trodden dirt tails for a mile or so in the woods not far from home. I haven't had an occasion short of black tie where these shoes won't work.

The buying experience is first-class and the shoe, once of the foot, speaks for itself. Amazing.

I'm looking forward to my next Rancourt purchase, and feel strongly that other folks should be looking to support our American businesses like Rancourt.

The highest quality material tans craftsmanship are evident in these classic New England shoes. I can’t wait to wear them when the weather turns cooler!

I bought my first pair eleven months ago. I started out wearing them as casual dress shoes to wear at work. But, they are very comfortable. So, I started wearing them on my afternoon dog walks through the cow pasture behind my house. I wear them to the pond, which usually means they get wet. I wear them working on my old cars (and when I drive them). I wear them gardening. I'll wear them to work (all polished up), and get home and go out and work in the pastures. They come back covered in dirt (and often mud). I clean them up, put polish on them, and they are ready to wear to work the next morning.

Frankly, I would say that "abusive" is the best description of my use of these shoes. I wear them more than I should. I don't rotate them as I should. But, they keep chugging on. I think I can go another year before I need a resole.

I bought a second pair in a darker color, but I still like these ones the best.

I love my three pair of Rancourt shoes. These are the dressiest of the three. More structured than the other pairs. The leather looks great.
