Description
The Beefroll Penny Loafer is our iconic shoe. Heritage Brown Leather is impregnated with a proprietary blend of natural oils and waxes, this special tannage gives the leather a number of distinctive properties. It has a beautiful bright finish, unique "pull-up" character, soft and flexible structure, and a "self polishing" property. Over time the leather will "bloom", which means the oils and waxes make their way to the surface, leaving a light white film on the leather. It's as simple as buffing with a horsehair brush or soft cloth and you'll restore the beautiful finish of the leather. This variation on our best-selling Beefroll Penny Loafers features Reltex Lactae hevea Crepe soles. The 100% natural latex Lactae Hevea soles are unrivaled in comfort and durability. This version of our Beefroll Penny Loafer is not only representative of the best of what we do but is also one of the most versatile shoes we make. The Lactae Hevea Crepe soles make these perfect for year round wear in wet weather. In addition to the unrivaled quality of our Heritage Brown Leather, we've crafted these shoes without a leather lining and using our genuine handsewn moccasin construction. I actually bought a pair of these on eBay bc I needed a pair of loafers & was amazed. The highest quality pair of loafers I’ve ever had. The leather is incredible. And they probably have the most comfortable soles I’ve ever had on a pair of shoes. I’ve since bought a couple pairs from Rancourt directly. Great shoes.
In terms of sizing, I’m a 12.5 in most dress shoes but sized down to a 12 for these. (I wear them without socks.) Seems to be spot on.
These are good looking, well made and comfortable shoes. Snug fit starting out but give them a week and let the loafing begin! My third pair of Rancourt shoes. Love them. In a shoe way.
Hi, I love this shoes. Very comfortable. Quality is excellent!!! Heard of LACTAE HEVEA soles by Reltex and was very curious about this soles. Also read a lot about Rancourt and his quality. So decided to buy this ones and know about the soles and Rancourt. I am very sattisfied!!! I own shoes with different soles, Dainite, Vibram, Air Soft by Mephisto, DMS sole by Dr. Marteen and Margom. I have to say that Lactae Hevea soles are by far the comfiest soles I have used!!! No break in period, just excellent
I've been wearing these loafers for several years; they're due for new soles, or heels at least, due to wear. With this leather tone, I've found clear shoe polish/treatment works best to remove scuffs on the leather. They're sturdy and well made with thick, high-quality leather. The look and feel of the leather is business casual/casual, a matte type of appearance, and the leather improves with age and modest care.
