Heritage Brown Leather is impregnated with a proprietary blend of natural oils and waxes, this special tannage gives the leather a number of distinctive properties. It has a beautiful bright finish, unique "pull-up" character, soft and flexible structure, and a "self polishing" property. Over time the leather will "bloom", which means the oils and waxes make their way to the surface, leaving a light white film on the leather. It's as simple as buffing with a horsehair brush or soft cloth and you'll restore the beautiful finish of the leather. The quality of the shoes are excellent and I've found the Reltex Lactae Hevea Crepe soles to be much more practical for wearing on a daily basis (e.g., wet sidewalks or floors). I went down a 1/2 size and they fit perfectly.
The loafers fit as described (that is order 1/2 size down) the sole is quite comfortable, I will likely get another pair of shoes with this rubber sole. The shoes were, at least to me, comfortable out of the box. Wore them for several hours of walking on the first day. Bought them at the factory, it was a great experience.
The Rancourt & Co. Beefroll Penny Loafer in natural pull-up leather and Reltex LH crepe soles is the perfect warm weather loafer. Living in FL, these are my daily “go to” shoes.
The unlined uppers are lightweight and breathable. The pull-up leather requires no break-in and are comfortable out of the box. With time, they’ve darkened to a deep honey color.
The Reltex LH soles are fantastic! Long-wearing with plenty of cushioning. I love them and own 3 pair of Rancourt loafers with LH soles.

What the title says. The rubber is soft and comfy, and the loafer shows how well crafted it is from the first wear. The breakin period is legit, but I don't care about that; to me, it's proof that I'll have these for a long time. My only issue (and this is a nit) is that the black is more like a deep chocolate brown. Maybe they'll age into a darker shade over time, but it doesn't quite look truly black
