I have two pair of these shoes that I bought a few years ago. If the shoes could talk, they would tell you that they really wish that they had gone to a better home. I wear these shoes all the time, and in every condition you can imagine.
I live in the country. I might wake up, shine a pair up, and wear them to the office. But, when I get home, I am very likely to change clothes and wear the same pair out into the pasture to check the cows, or into the garden to do a little work. I wear them in the rain, in the mud, in the fields, working on old cars, etc. I walk three or four times a week around the pasture for exercise, and 90% of the time I wear these shoes. It would be fair to say that my "do everything in these shoes"
These shoes look great and are ridiculously durable. I interchange the two pair that I have. I have had these shoes for a few years and, with the exception of one re-soling, they are in great original shape. No matter how atrociously filthy I get them, I can always clean and polish them right up into a very respectable appearance. I am rough on these shoes, yet they seem to take the endless abuse in stride.
I don't know how the stitching has stayed intact.

I really appreciate very well made products that are manufactured in the USA. They're 1.5x heavier than my previous shoes, telling me the materials going into them are more substantial and of a better quality. They were bedroom slipper comfortable out of the box and required zero break in. My only regret is that I didn't buy them years ago.
Love my Derbys! Continuing to break them in but I can feel the quality and am looking forward to many years of wearing them.
