Gilman Camp-Moc - Medium Brown Buckaroo

Had been looking at getting a camp moc as opposed to a boat shoe- came across Rancourt. Since they are somewhat close by I stopped in at their showroom in Lewiston ME. Glad I did- it was helpful to get the insider tip on sizing for their camp moc. Man suggested going 1/2 size down and slightly wider- I am normally 9D and in camp moc I took an 8 1/2 E. The fit is fantastic and you can tell its a quality build.

Other than sizing, a note on the color. The website photos looked much darker, but the actual medium brown buckaroo is much lighter than the online image.

My third pair from this company. Nice level of quality. Order true to size. Tight at first, then mold it to my feet nicely.

Fine craftsmanship. Maybe the most comfortable shoes I own. I love that they are made in Maine and not overseas.

I also have a pair of the Reed boat shoes which are similar but more comfortable; I like the boat shoes much better. Unfortunately - while they look cool - the design of these camp-mocs with the single lace does not work for me. After walking around for a little while that lace starts digging into the top of my foot and it is unbearable. I ended up pulling the laces out completely and wearing the shoes that way. Looks a little funny with the empty holes but the shoe seems wearable without the lace and it solves the discomfort. The shoe otherwise fits true to size.

Grain leather camp mic-well detailed.They took a lot of breaking in though as they were a very snug size. 10.Very comfortable to walk in.
