Description

In 1967, David Rancourt started the Rancourt family on the path to crafting some of the highest quality footwear in the world. The 1967 Collection is a reflection of the Rancourt family's heritage in shoemaking. Each pair in the 1967 collection is unlined and cut from heavyweight Chromepak, a leather that was ubiquitous in Maine moccasin making in the 1960's. This 10-15oz. leather is unparalleled in durability as it is remarkably thick and rugged while the high oil content helps it retain some pliability while adding exceptional pull-up. The Vibram 232 Mini-lug soles lend a traditional look that complements the heavy chromepak leather with added versatility and durability.

Sole insert replacement

I have had these for about two years. I absolutely love the look and versatility. Definitely my favorite loafer style shoes. However, the 3/4 length footbed has always bothered me. The seam sat right under the balls of my feet and always felt “present.”

I finally decided to rip out the footbed and insert a pair of Dr. Scholl’s. Remarkable improvement! Tearing out the original footbed showed how well constructed these shoes are. I have other shoes from a similar manufacturer and the footbeds come loose on their own. These were secured very well.

I will note that adding the Dr. Scholls raised my foot in the shoe and tighten things up. Which was actually a good thing. But since this was after I had already broken the shoes in, adding inserts to a new pair might be a little uncomfortable at first.

My Favorite Loafers

These shoes are great! Rugged but attractive. I get compliments all the time. When was the last time your shoes got a compliment?

I agree that they run a bit large but not a problem.

I highly recommend these shoes.
